Services

In addition to guitar and now ukulele builds, Services include consultation, instrument evaluation, action set-ups and repairs. “Repairs” cover a wide range of activities, from a simple string change to a potentially challenging neck reset.  This includes both acoustic and electric instruments. If there is something not-quite-right about your guitar, give me a call. For more information about guitar builds, see the Guitar Description section.

Examples of available services include:

  • string changing and replacement

  • assessment of guitar set- up and appropriate adjustments

  • nut and/or saddle adjustment and/or replacement

  • fret work - assessing, leveling and replacement

  • tuner repair or replacement

  • crack repair and cleating

  • bridge reattachment or replacement

  • neck reset

  • pick up installation

  • cleaning and generall TLC

Repairs

Prices below are estimates and subject to individual circumstances and situations. Feel free to drop by or call to discuss your situation and get a better idea as to costs.  

Bench fee minimum: $50

  • Set-up: $75 - $100, depending on the condition of the instrument

  • Install new strings: $35 (does not include the cost of strings)

  • Cut and install a new nut: $75

  • Thickness, shape and install new saddle: $60

  • Tuner replacement: paddle style headstock $75, slotted headstock $85 (does not include the cost of tuners)

  • Crack repairs: minimum bench fee plus $20 per crack for simple cracks

  • Bridge removal, clean-up, and reattachment: $125

  • Neck reset: $400 minimum depending on the instrument

  • Fret level, recrown, and polish: $150

  • Complete refret: $200 minimum depending on the condition of the instrument

  • Partial refret level, recrown, and polish: $80

  • Loose brace: minimum bench fee plus $20 per repair

  • Binding reglue: $50 per edge minimum, but dependent on the situation

  • Acoustic Pick-up installation: $75 minimum for passive pickup, maybe more depending on the type of system
